Blogging has evolved a lot since its origins.

Back in the 1990s and early 2000s, blogging was primarily a type of internet diary where you would write about your interests or what you did each day.

But then something happened.

🎯 Companies started to realize that blog content was an incredible way to showcase their products and services in front of their target customers.

They recognized a chance to bring in a large number of people to their websites through blog articles, which eventually brought readers to their various goods or services, as well as email lists and social media profiles.

Some of the world's largest corporations now have blogs alongside their online enterprises, which is a testament to their power.

Jenna Kutcher, Tony Robbins and Brendan Burchard are just some of the successful coaches who use blog marketing as one of their key strategies.

Let me break down some of the most compelling reasons for you to start and grow a blog, especially if you have coaching programs, courses or done-for-you services to offer.

By the way, I not only have this blog that helps drive visibility, leads and sales to my offers, launches and funnels but I also have a full-time blogging business that I've had for over 12 years! You can check out my other blog here.

ARE BLOGS ARE DEAD? LET’S TALK ABOUT IT

YOU DON’T OWN YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA

Consider this for a second...

💭 Imagine that you've established this excellent business or social media accounts, only to have them arbitrarily revoked, cancelled, or restricted.

What impact will this have on your sales goals?

You'll lose access to all of those followers if you lose access to your social media accounts.

I discovered this several years ago when I was having issues with my Facebook account.

It was then that I recognized the significance of having various traffic sources, and how crucial it is to keep them up to date.

Fortunately, for me, social media is not a large traffic source; therefore, my traffic was only modestly affected.

Imagine if you were most active on Instagram or Facebook and lost access. You've lost access to your followers as well as potential leads, and you've also lost money, which is a dangerous position to be in as a business.

We've also seen social media platforms suspend certain accounts/people and go down at random.

So, again, YOU DON'T OWN YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA.

A WEBSITE'S CONTENT IS ALWAYS IN SEASON - Aka it's evergreen!

When it comes to social media, you've undoubtedly heard the adage that content goes viral in 24-48 hours.

You spend all this time creating brilliant material, and then it vanishes into the content black hole, never to be seen again.

A blog article may be shared and developed over time.

If you post amazing material on a regular basis, it will undoubtedly be read, bring traffic to your site, and lead people to your goods or services.

The wonderful material you spent so much time creating is actually read and reread, again and again for years!

A BLOG STRATEGY IS A LONG-TERM SUCCESS PLAN FOR YOUR COMPANY.

Let me be clear, blog marketing is not a get-rich-quick scheme or going to make you sales overnight.

With evergreen blog content, you must be ready to stick with it for the long run. You can't expect to have a few fantastic weeks and then quit when you don't see any results. The older your blog gets, the better it gets—much like a great red wine.

A blog builds a safety net for your online business in the long run but it also helps with trust with your audience.

👉 Have a funnel where you want to build quick trust and authority? Make one of the emails focused around a blog post that showcases your expertise!

EASY WAY TO ATTRACT MORE PEOPLE TO YOUR EMAIL LIST

We all know how important a mailing list is.

We don't have access to the emails of people who follow us on social media, and a blog doesn't give you access to the people who visit it, so if you want to keep communicating with them, you'll need to get their email addresses.

A blog post helps attract them and then they can sign up for your freebie to collect their email address so you can keep in touch.

You may advertise your lead magnet on your blog and also develop blog articles around it, providing them with a taste of what they can anticipate after signing up.

GROW YOUR AUTHORITY IN YOUR SPACE

You may use a blog to demonstrate your understanding and experience in an organized way.

You can pique the interest of a possible client or consumer by doing this. You become far more of an authority in your area if you have a blog and enough material on it.

If your ideal client is deciding between a coach who just has Instagram vs YOU, who has Instagram AND a content bank of blog posts on your website diving into topics that they want to learn more about, who do you think has a higher chance of converting?

YOU CAN MAKE EXTRA MONEY

For business owners who have items or services to sell, many times they do not see the potential to generate any more money from their blog, and I'm here to tell you that it's entirely possible.

Affiliates are one of the most reliable methods to generate additional money. I'd want you to sit down and make a list of ten items or services that you currently use and enjoy and which are related to your business.

Simply Google ‘name of service/product' + 'affiliate program' after creating a list. If the service or product you're looking for has an affiliate program, it will appear.

You will be sent a unique code once you apply and are accepted. After that, simply insert the affiliate code into your blog posts, and if someone buys after clicking on it, you'll earn a commission! It's as easy as that.

Another option to make a lot of money is by collaborating with brands.

Consider the services and items that you enjoy, begin engaging with them on social media, and then pitch to them!

You could create a series of blog posts around that brand or include them in blog posts that are already published. If you have the same target audience as their target audience you have exactly what they need - more perfect leads!

What is the future of blogging?

Look, if I had a crystal ball and could tell you what your next meal is going to be or when you're going hit 1 million dollars in your business, I would but unfortunately, it's not possible (yet).

But what we can do is look at data and the trends of the blog marketing space over the years.

And although the video industry is huge (and will continue to grow) and all news stories are telling us how we're dumber than a goldfish, evergreen blog marketing is still on top.

As long as people visit websites and use Google, blogs will always be an effective strategy to drive sales, leads and visibility to your offers and funnels.

So, in conclusion, is blogging worth it in 2024? Absolutely!

In fact, the ROI you will get from adding a blog into your marketing strategy will skyrocket your leads, sales and visibility without the same hours of work that you put into social media or video content.

Those were the top reasons why you should seriously consider starting and expanding a blog as a business owner, as well as why blogging is NOT dead and will still be popular for years to come.
